Road safety

Dementia is the third largest cause of death in Australia. By 2050 it is projected there will be 1 million Australians with dementia and Victoria alone will have 98,000 sufferers - a 50 percent increase on today’s numbers.

These are alarming statistics by anyone’s measure. ExxonMobil has joined with Alzheimer's Australia in Victoria in a community campaign promoting awareness about dementia and support services.

For further information visit Alzheimer's Victoria or call the National Dementia Helpline 1800 100 500.

Child safety

Babies and young children account for 54 percent of hospital treated home injuries. The Royal Children’s Hospital Safety Centre, in partnership with ExxonMobil Australia, has produced a set of Child Safety Fact Sheets, Bringing Baby Home Safety Kit, a Child Safety Handbook (A guide to injury prevention for parents of 6 to 12 year olds), safety posters and a Home Safety Checklist.

Copies of the safety resources are freely available from the Royal Children’s Hospital Safety Centre.

Hospitals and emergency services

ExxonMobil has a long tradition of supporting hospitals and emergency services near our operations.

In a relationship dating back to the mid 1980s, ExxonMobil has assisted the Alfred Hospital to purchase new equipment in the Burns, Intensive Care and Trauma Units at the hospital. In 2014, we commenced a new community partnership with Monash Health at Clayton, contributing $24,000 to support emergency and intensive care services.

Other hospitals receiving our support include: Central Gippsland Health Service, South Gippsland, Peninsula Health, Royal Melbourne and Western Health.

We also support local CFA brigades, SES teams and volunteer coast guard rescue organisations in areas where we have operations, helping them to purchase emergency response equipment.

Cancer Council Victoria

ExxonMobil has supported the Cancer Council Victoria for more than 25 years. Our support has helped the Cancer Council provide advice and assistance via its Cancer Helpline and wigs for loan from its wig library service for women undergoing cancer treatment.

Australian Drug Foundation

ExxonMobil has supported the Australian Drug Foundation (ADF) to produce education booklets for parents, teachers and young adults. The booklets were developed to meet a growing number of requests for information about drug and alcohol issues. More information on the ADF.
