Michelle joined the ExxonMobil in January 2011 after several years working in federal and state geological survey organisations.
Her first assignment was as a Data Analyst in the Data Management team, loading and managing well and seismic data for various geoscience teams, gaining experience in both data management and geoscience applications.
Currently, she is working as an Upstream Technical Computing Geoscientist, providing technical and application support to the large geoscience organisation, across Exploration, Development and Production.
“Because the geoscience business we support is extremely active and highly varied, the opportunity for exposure to different issues and projects really keeps the job interesting. The large global network also means there is always someone to get help and learn from.”
Michelle has attended numerous training courses within Australia, Malaysia and the USA, in the areas of geoscience and technical applications, and has also had the opportunity to attend internal conferences within the company. Michelle will soon commence a six month rotation in Exploration to better understand the technical processes undertaken by the business.
“The opportunities at ExxonMobil to move into different roles has been fantastic, especially when coupled with the focus on personal development – the training is outstanding.”
