Volunteer Involvement Program grants support community initiatives

• ExxonMobil Australia has provided grants to local community groups to recognise employee volunteering efforts
• More than $1.6 million awarded since the program began in 2002

MELBOURNE:  ExxonMobil Australia will donate close to $80,000 to Australian community groups as part of its annual Volunteer Involvement Program (VIP).

The program encourages employees who donate more than 20 hours of their time each year to volunteer work to nominate their chosen community group to receive a $1,000 donation from the company.

Community organisations benefiting from the grants in 2016 include schools, kindergartens, fire brigades, surf lifesaving clubs and cultural groups. The grants will help community groups to buy equipment, fund additional resources and enhance their programs.

Since the program began in 2002, more than $1.6 million dollars has been donated to community organisations and in the past year employees have volunteered for more than 5,500 hours.
